–The Zambian Women Parliamentarians this afternoon laboured to beat fellow Women lawmakers from Malawi in a tightly contested netball match.
The game, which was played in Lusaka at the Olympic Youth Development Center (OYDC), saw the Zambian women legislators beating Malawi by 17 to 15 balls.
The Zambian team looked determined from the start of the game and at some point was leading by an 8 goal difference but towards the end of the game they relaxed, giving the Malawians chance to get closer to tally the points.
Among the fans were Speaker of the National Assembly of Zambia, Patrick Matibini and his Malawian counterpart, Henry Banda.
In another development, the Zambia men Members of Parliament put up a gallant fight coming from behind beating the Malawians by 2 goals to 1 in the game played at the same venue.
Malawi scored first in the first half and Zambia came back and scored a goal each in the first and second halves to secure the much-needed victory.
This is the third time the two legislators are competing in social games and the last time the two teams met Malawi beat Zambia in Lilongwe by 3 goals to 2.
And speaking in a post match interview, speaker of the National Assembly, Patrick Matibini, said sport is good for parliamentarians as it makes them much healthier.
Dr Matibini added that Zambia and Malawi legislators have continued to enjoy a cordial relationship not only in sport but also in various social activities.
