Research is critical for checks and balances – Mwaba
Kabwe June 19th, 2013 , ZANIS ————- Zambia Congress of Trade Unions (ZCTU) General secretary Roy Mwaba says research is critical in the provision of checks and balances.
And ZCTU Director for Public and International Relations Martin Chembe says research plays a pivotal role as it provides government to have options to address challenges facing the nation.
Mr. Mwaba says it was for this reason that his organization was urging its members to thoroughly do research on many issues affecting the nation if they were to make meaningful contribution to the nation’s development.
He has since instructed all affiliates to ZCTU to formulate directorates for research to enhance the unions contribution on debates on issues of national importance.
ZANIS reports that the ZCTU General Secretary said this during the official opening of a ZCTU/LO-FTF workshop for trade union researchers held in Kabwe.
Mr. Mwaba said it is time the nation moved away from condemning government in all aspects to a point where solutions are offered to the challenges the nation continues to face.

The workshop is being attended to by researchers from some unions affiliated to ZCTU which include Civil Servants and allied workers union of Zambia (CSAWUZ), Zambia national Union of Teachers (ZNUT) .
