————-The wrangle between Chief Mpumba of Bisa-Lala of Mpika district and Juwell Kapande Mukaba has deepened.
Mr Kapande, who stormed ZANIS office in Serenje with his relatives, appealed to government to intervene in the matter, claiming that the current chief was not from the family tree and he should leave the chiefdom to the owners.
Mr Kapande, who availed supporting documents to his claims, said that the materials were written by the Ministry of Chiefs and Traditional Affairs on different days, adding that government should strongly write to Chief Mpumba to relinquish the chiefdom to the family tree of Mpumba.
He narrated that the current chief Mpumba was just appointed to act, a move he claimed he has not accepted.
Mr Kapande has since pleaded with the government to quickly sort out the impasse that has rocked the chiefdom for many years now.
And according to a letter availed to ZANIS by Mr Kapande, chief Mpumba was selected by family members after senior chief Kopa wrote them to select the chief.
Mr Kapande is currently living in Chief Chitambo’s Chiefdom at Chipundu in Chitambo District fearing threats from chief Mpumba.
