Police in Mumbwa recover a stolen vehicle
Mumbwa…June 18, 2013….ZANIS — The Zambia Police Service in Mumbwa District has recovered a carter which was stolen at gun point from a teacher of Kimilambo School.
ZANIS reports that Mumbwa police officer commanding Josphat Mawere confirmed the development in an interview in Mumbwa District, today.
Mr. Mawere explained that a Mitsubishi Canter Reg.No. ALG 3646 valued at KR 90,000 belonging to Clement Kalinda 36’was stolen around 01;00 hours at his house.
He added that the bandits came to his house and called the name of his child and pretended that they had a patient who was supposed to be ferried to Mumbwa district hospital.
The officer commanding disclosed that when Kalinda opened the door they fired in the air using an AK47 riffle and demanded for the keys of a carter and some cash.
Mr. Mawere said Kalinda who is deputy head at the school surrendered the keys and the KR4000 while rest of the family fled the house.
The officer commanding further disclosed that the vehicle was abandoned around Situmbeko area while the suspects are on the run.
Police have also launched a man hunt.
