Public workers urged to support government
Kasama, May 22, ZANIS ——- Community Development Mother and Child Health Deputy Minister Dorothy Kazunga has urged public service workers to support government’s decision to remove subsidies on fuel and maize.
Speaking when she addressed officers under her ministry in Mungwi district yesterday, Ms Kazunga said the decision is in national interest and needs the support of everyone including government employees.
Ms Kazunga noted that the removal of subsidies will help government save about millions of kwacha that will be used for various developmental projects in the country.
She advised public service workers serving in rural districts to exercise patience with government over their difficult conditions they face in discharging their duties, adding that government is doing everything possible to correct the situation.
Ms Kazunga however pointed out that it is not easy for government to address all the challenges public service workers were facing within a short time.
The Deputy Minister of Community Development Mother and Child Health is in Northern Province to inspect projects under her ministry.
