Minister commends ZNS works
Mansa/ May 14, ZANIS ———— Luapula Province Minister Benson Kapaya has underscored the role that the Zambia National Service (ZNS) has continued to play in the development of the province.
Brigadier General Kapaya says ZNS through its various activities has continued to add value in the province’s development.
ZANIS reports that General Kapaya said this when Defence Deputy Minister in charge of Infrastructure and Rural Development Joseph Lungu called on him at his office.
He observed that there is need to boost cattle rearing at the ZNS Lwanfumu camp in Mansa so that they are able to sale animals for breeding as opposed to the current situation where they only sale animals for beef.
He said Luapula province is a good breeding area for cattle as it is a disease free area adding that ZNS can spearhead the breeding of animals in the province through the stocking of good breeding breeds.
And Defence Deputy Minister Colonel Lungu disclosed that his ministry has procured spare parts worthy over KR200, 000 for the repair of equipments throughout the country.
The Defence Deputy Minister has since called on government to consider the Zambia National Service in its awarding of contracts saying the unity has the capacity to do road works.
Colonel Lungu is on a three day tour of Luapula province to appreciate the conditions under which the Zambia National Service is working.
