Solwezi police arrest dangerous driver

—Police in Solwezi have arrested a driver for dangerous driving after the vehicle he was driving collided with the Zambia Police land cruiser.

The incident happened this morning along Independence Road around 06:45 hours.

North Western Province Deputy Police commissioner, Paul Achiume confirmed the incident to ZANIS.

Mr Achiume said the driver , identified as Joshua Kabaila, was driving a Corolla vehicle heading to Kyawama Compound when he lost control and hit into a Zambia Police vehicle which was coming from the opposite direction.

He said the police land cruiser was driven by Sergeant David Kabutu and belonging to the Central Police station, has been damaged in front.

Mr Achiume said Kabaila has since been charged with dangerous driving and is being detained at central police station.

There were no casualties in the accident.
