The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) has arrested a Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) Assistant Inspector for corrupt practices involving KR 40, 000.
Acting Anti Corruption Commission spokesperson Queen Chibwe has told ZANIS in a press statement today that Regina Katongo, 42 an Assistant Inspector at ZRA of house number 1 Masa Road in Libala Stage 4B in Lusaka has been arrested and charged with one count of corrupt practices by a public officer contrary to section 19 (1) as read with section 41 of the Anti-corruption Act number 3 of 2012.
Ms. Chibwe said particulars of the offence are that Katongo solicited KR40 000 and received KR10 000 cash gratification from Mabel Muyoba of Ibex Hill School Limited, as an inducement to reduce the amount of tax to Ibex Hill School Limited to Zambia Revenue Authority from K975, 408. 030 to K339, 927, 209.
She said Katonga has since been released on police bond after meeting all conditions of bond adding that she will appear in court on next week on March 27.
