Mubukwanu calls for commitment on duty
Solwezi, March 11, 2013, ZANIS—North-western province Minister,
Nathaniel Mubukwanu has called for strengthening of the planning unit
in the province.
Mr Mubukwanu said the population in Solwezi is increasing at a fast
rate and therefore there is need to properly plan the township to
accommodate the growing population.
He said if no proper planning is put in place Solwezi risks becoming a worst slump.
The minister said this in Solwezi today during his introductory
meeting with provincial heads of government departments.
Meanwhile, Mr Mubukwanu has called on government workers to remain
committed in their respective mandates of duty and deliver to the
expectations of the people.
He advised them to be accountable for their time on duty and
for public resources to ensure that money is spent on intended
purposes that will benefit the people.
He said he is not going to tolerate government workers in the habit of
reporting late for work and knocking off earlier than the stipulated
time.
Mr Mubukwanu has called for team work between his office and various
departments in the province in order to deliver to the expectations of
the people.
Mr Mubukwanu was appointed North-western province Minister last month
replacing Mr Stephen Masumba who was moved to the ministry of youth
and sport as deputy minister taking over from Mr Mubukwanu.
