The Zambia Voluntary Soccer Fans Association (ZAVOSOFA) has advised national soccer team coach Herve Renard to identify and adopt more young football players into the team.

ZAVOSOFA Patron Peter Makembo said this should be done immediately so that new players can possibly be included in the team as the Chipolopolo boys jostle to qualify for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

Makembo told ZANIS sports in a telephone interview in Lusaka today that the French man should consider recruiting more young and energetic soccer players to the national team needs.

He said Renard should continue to closely follow the local football league matches where young players were featured.

Makembo added that this would assist him to know how some of the young soccer players were performing in their local games.

He emphasized the need of the Chipolopolo trainer not to relent in visiting local football stadiums to watch games.

Meanwhile, the ZAVOSOFA patron has congratulated ZANACO Football Club for beating Mbabane Swallows of Swaziland in their Confederation of African Football (CAF) first round preliminary leg match at Nkoloma stadium in Lusaka yesterday.

ZANACO, which is sponsored by the Zambia National Commercial Bank, humiliated the Swallows of Mbabane 3-2.

Makembo observed that the bank sponsored side put up a splendid performance to see them win the game against their opponents.

He noted that despite allowing two goals, soccer fans across the country should continue to support Zanaco all the way through.
