Patriot Front in Kalomo has called for peaceful campaigns ahead of the February 28, Livingstone parliamentary bye elections saying any acts of violence would not be tolerated by the youth of the ruling party.
District Youth Chairperson, Paul Silungwe said this in a statement made available to ZANIS in Kalomo today, saying his party was a peaceful one and did not condone the oppositions’ pronouncement that they will implore ‘ the Mapatizya formula’ ahead of the February 28,
Livingstone parliamentary bye elections.
The ruling party has since fielded Evans Lawrence, proprietor of Ng’ombe Breweries of Livingstone as their candidate for the tourist capital constituency hot seat.
“We don’t want to bring war in this country, we want peaceful campaigns and we urge all political parties to address their cadres. All political parties after elections will remain the same, why should we fight?” expressed the youth chairperson.
Earlier, the opposition instigated of violent practices ahead of the scheduled polls which has of late riled the ruling party’s youth organs in the province.
The Livingstone parliamentary seat fell vacant following the resignation of Rev Howard Sikwela from UPND.
