POLICE in Chililabombwe have arrested 11 Grade Seven pupils for allegedly organising an illegal beer-drinking party soon after finishing their final examinations.
Copperbelt commissioner of police Joyce Kasosa said in an interview yesterday that 10 girls and one boy were nabbed on Friday and detained at Lubengele Police Post for idling and disorderly conduct.
Ms Kasosa said the pupils converged on Konkola Copper Mines dam, a restricted place, where they allegedly indulged in excessive beer drinking soon after finishing their final Grade 12 examinations.
She said it was disappointing that pupils at such a tender age could organise a beer-drinking party.
