MONGU Municipal Council (MMC) has honoured former President Michael Sata by naming one of the newly-constructed roads after him.
According to a list of heroes honoured by the local authority, the late President has been honoured for the development projects he spearheaded in the area.
Others who have been honoured are late Bishop Paul Duffy, Chieftainess Mbuyu Wa Mwambwa, missionary Francisco Conrad, businessman Kalaluka Mukumbuta and Nathaniel Mubukwanu, who is Mongu Central member of Parliament.
And Mongu district commissioner Susiku Kamona said the honouring of Mr Sata is a demonstration that his development agenda made an impact in the area.
“Let me also say that Bishop Duffy equally made a change in the lives of many poor children, as he was a voice for the voiceless,” he said.
