Police in Mongu this morning picked up a dead body of a 54-four-year old man in Mbuywana residential area.
Western Province Deputy Police Commissioner Sharon Zulu disclosed this to ZANIS in Mongu today and identified the deceased as Kanyenge Mangeya who is suspected to have been allegedly murdered.
Ms. Zulu said that the body of Mangeya was discovered by his young brother Chibamba Ndala around 06:00 hours today in a pool of blood about 10 metres away from his home in the same area.
Ms Zulu said Ndala later informed the police about his brother’s death.
She further revealed that the body was found with two deep cuts in the head.
Police have not yet established the cause of the death but have instituted investigations into the alleged murder.
The body of the deceased has since been taken to Lewanika General Hospital mortuary to await further investigations before burial.
