Zambian artist Pilato, has said jail is a terrible place for criminals but a great place of inspiration for those that stand up for the dignity of humanity. It must be learnt that peace is not the absence of war but of tolerance.
This comes after he was granted a cash bail of K1000 by a Lusaka Magistrate today.
“I wish to thank everyone who has supported and wished me freedom.
Thank you very much. My trial starts this month on the 24th,” he added.
Pilato was arrested yesterday after some members of the public complained to the police that his song, allegedly targeted at President Lungu, brought the name of the Head of State into disrepute.
Lusaka Province police commissioner, Charity Katanga said in an interview that Pilato had been charged with one count of conduct likely to cause breach of peace.
