Sate Sate missing from 18 man squad to face Bostwana

Zambia Under Twenty Three coach, Fighton Simukonda has unveiled his final 18 man squad that will face Botswana next Friday in Senegal U23 African Championship qualifier in Gaborone.

ZANIS sports  reports that Football association of Zambia ( FAZ )  communications manager Nkweto Tembwe says in a statement May 15th that among those called is Power Dynamos midfielder, Kelvin Mubanga who has been included in the wake of the injuries and non-availability of some of the players.

 

He says celebrated goal poacher, Ronald “Sate Sate” Kampamba is among those that will not make the trip to Botswana because his Egyptian side has refused to release him.

Others excluded include Bruce Musakanya and Salulani Phiri who are still recovering from their injuries and have been side-lined.

Tembwe however says injured speedy winger Lubambo Musonda has recovered from the injury he sustained during the U20 Africa cup finals in Senegal and is in the final group that flies out to Botswana next week.

 

Meanwhile , Simukonda has asked his boys to take the Botswana match serious especially that the U23 Africa cup finals will also be used to choose the final three teams to represent the continent at the Brazil 2016 Olympics.

And midfielder, Benson Sakala is optimistic that Zambia can get a good result next Friday.

The Chicago Magic player said their aim is to finish the match at their backyard and make the return assignment a formality said.

 

Those who have been called is Zanaco’s  Toaster Nsabata and Moses Phiri, Kenny Mumba, Benedict Chepeshi, and Shadreck Malambo all from Red Arrows,Napsa’s Boyd Mkandawire and Chicago Magic’s Benson Sakala.

Others are Kayawe Kapota of Nkana,  Aubrey  Chamulwanda, Patson Daka from Nchanga, Green Buffaloes Friday Samu,Solomon Sakala from Kabwe Warriors, Lobamba Musonda of power and Buffaloes Jack Chirwa.

Zambia will meet Botswana at the Lobatse Sport complex, 70 kilometres south of the country’s capital Gaborone which will Kick-off at 19:30 local time.
