Chief Government Spokesperson Chishimba Kambwili says the utterances by opposition FDD leader Edith Nawakwi against President Edgar Lungu have become boring.

And Mr Kambwili says government will not dwell too much on the irrelevance of a woman who once held key ministerial positions in government but cannot point to any tangible achievement during her tenure as minister.

Mr Kambwili, who is also Minister of Information and Broadcasting Services said government will however not stand aloof and let Ms.Nawikwi mislead the nation especially that she once was a Cabinet minister.

Mr. Kambwili noted since President Lungu won the elections in January Ms Nawakwi and a few hired political charlants have embarked on a smear campaign to discredit the Head of State.

Mr. Kambwili said the President as humble as he has always been has chosen to concentrate on what Zambians voted him for to ensure he drives the development agenda of the country.

He said president Lungu will look at all sectorial areas of development because the world is an open web in which no country can succeed without relations with others.

Mr. Kambwili said it was disgraceful in the extreme for Ms. Nawakwi and others to claim that Presidential trips abroad were unnecessary.

He added that there can be no development if Zambia decided to go it alone as it was not an island.

He said fortunately Zambians know who Ms Nawakwi is and would not waste a vote on her.

Mr Kambwili who is also Information and Broadcasting minister said government invites all well-meaning Zambians to come on forward and offer suggestions in the development of the country in a sincere and civil manner rather than specialize in trivialities and empty political rhetoric.

  1. I wish President EL could appoint a tribunal to investigate the sale of LENCO and ROP in Lusaka. We need to know how it was sold.
