Operations at Nakonde Border have normalized.
The border was on Tuesday closed due to confusions that erupted in the Tanzanian town of Tunduma.
Muchinga Province Permanent Secretary Bright Nundwe has confirmed the development in a telephone interview with ZNBC News.
Mr. Nundwe says government has since directed fuel trucks that were marooned at the border to be cleared first.
He says the trucks will be escorted by State security personnel up to the safest point.
On Monday, supporters of Tanzania’s ruling Chama Chama Pinduzi and the opposition Chama Cha Demokrasia Na Maendeleo fought with the police over a disputed piece of land.
Gunshots could be heard on the Zambian side as the two battled it out in the night.
