——————–Minister of Chiefs and Traditional Affairs Joseph Katema says government is implementing several programmes to bridge the gap between men and women.

Dr Katema added that the programme to curb Gender Based Violence-GBV is being addressed through advocacy and the establishment of one stop centers for survivors of GBV.

Speaking when he graced the International Women’s Day celebrations in Kabwe, Dr Katema said government was also addressing issues of poverty among women especially those in rural areas by putting in place a Rural Empowerment Programme.

He also said government through the Ministry of Gender and Child Development is implementing a project meant to grow teenage girls into women.
