Solwezi, February 12, 2015, ZANIS — Kalumbila mine Management says 90 percent of jobs are given to Zambians are intact once the mine is fully operational.
Mine Assistant general manager Christen Pascal says his company will ensure that Mr Pascal said out of the workforce of 1,520, ninety percent will be given to Zambians in line with government’s policy.
He said the company will also embark on training local operators to operate most of the machinery in the mine.
ZANIS rep9orts that Mr Pascal was speaking yesterday when Northwestern province minister Dawson Kafwaya conducted a familiarization tour of the mine.
And Mr Kafwaya expressed happiness with the company’s commitment of buying into government’s vision of putting money into people’s pockets by creating jobs.
Mr Kafwaya said government will continue creating conducive environment that will attract investment to the country.
