The University of Zambia Student Union (UNZASU) would like to totally disassociate itself from the meager or minute number of students who stormed ZNBC in support of the endorsement of president Michael Chilufya Sata as the 2016 presidential candidate. That was just a few students that can be described as PF sympathizers and they do not in any way represent the position or the views of the student populace.
The Union will not tolerate any student masquerading as a carrier of the union’s stance on any issue in the university, nation and beyond. We stand to the enhancement of integrity in UNZASU by remaining non-partisan and objective in analyzing issues of public interest. Chiefly, we strongly assert that all the students who participated in the scourge will undergo disciplinary action.
We admonish all politicians both from the ruling and opposition political parties that they must stop appeasing some desperate UNZA students with money in quest for them to issue political statements but channel the resources towards the development of the University of Zambia if they really care.
We further challenge the republican president Michael C. Sata to quickly intervene and end internal wrangles currently being exhibited within the patriotic front as this is superlatively mugging efforts needed for the development of this country.
