Kabompo, May 9, 2013, ZANIS—Government says it has scaled up the vaccination exercise of all one year old children and below against pneumonia in Kabompo and Manyinga districts.
ZANIS reports that District community medical officer, Dr Stephen Shajanika confirmed the
development to in an interview in Kabompo today.
Dr Shajanika said government , through the Ministry of Health, has introduced a new Pneumonia Conjugate Vaccine (PCV 10) to vaccinate all children aged six weeks, 10 weeks and 14 weeks against pneumonia.
He said currently the ministry is busy mobilizing parents through mobile publicity to have their children vaccinated against the disease in all the rural health centres catchment areas in the two districts.
Dr Shajanika has commended the parents for embracing the exercise.
