Police in Kitwe have warned and cautioned opposition FDD President
Edith Nawakwi for holding political meetings in Mulenga compound
without authority.
Copperbelt Police Commissioner Joyce Kasosa has told ZNBC News in a
telephone interview that her officers cautioned Ms Nawakwi because she was operating outside the law.
Ms Kasosa says as a former lawmaker, Ms Nawakwi knows that the law
requires that she notifies the Police before holding political activities.
The Copperbelt Police Chief has dispelled rumours that Ms Nawakwi had been arrested.
But according to a statement issued online by FDD Spokesperson Antonio
Mwanza, the party claimed that Ms Nawakwi had been arrested by Police.
