RETIRED Colonel Paul Banda is reportedly devastated by the death of his wife Vivian Banda, whom he allegedly shot dead, and says that he loved her.
Father Charles Chilinda said this at a requiem mass for Mrs Banda at St Ignatius Catholic Church in Lusaka yesterday after earlier talking to Col Banda in hospital and holding a mini mass and allowing him to view the body of his wife in hospital.
This information stirred mummers among the hundreds of mourners but in his homily, Father John Mwelwa implored the family to avoid speculating about what could have happened.
Mrs Banda’s last-born daughter, Limpo, described her mother as a loving woman who stood by her family in all times while their son Paul Banda Jr, who allegedly beat his father, was visibly agitated and did not view the body.
