Government says efforts are being made to boost the tourism sector, in order to increase revenue and create 300 thousand jobs.
Tourism and Arts Minister, Jean Kapata says her Ministry is working towards achieving this target while addressing the challenges that hinder the growth of the tourism industry.
Ms. Kapata has cited the lack of international conference facilities, the limited bed space in the hospitality industry, and the issuance of visas to tourists as some of the issues that need to be addressed.
The Minister made the remarks when she called on Zambia’s High Commissioner to Malawi, Salome Mwananshiku in Lilongwe.
