The University of Zambia (UNZA) says it is working on a K20 million project to build a multipurpose teaching and learning centre.
UNZA Vice Chancellor Stephen Simukanga told ZANIS in an interview in Lusaka March 25th that the multipurpose centre will house two lecture theatres, laboratories, staff offices and a reading centre for at least 1,000 students.
Professor Simukanga said the institution has this year set aside K4 million towards the project which is estimated to cost K20 million.
He explained that the rest of the money is expected to be raised from the goodwill of the UNZA alumni.
Prof Simukanga further said UNZA will also seek support from the Ministry of Education to organize a high level official launch of the UNZA alumni and fundraising dinner.
