–Patriotic Front (PF) Head of Research Bureau Nickson Chilangwa, says the recent electoral victory in Mwinilunga District is an indication that the party is growing quickly in North-Western Province.

ZANIS reports that Mr. Chilangwa said the party has been growing steadily in the province following its poor show during the 2011 tripartite elections.

Mr. Chilangwa who is also Home Affairs Deputy Minister said this during the PF victory party celebration and unveiling of newly elected PF councilors in Mwinilunga district.

He implored PF Members in the province to embark on a membership recruitment drive in order to consolidate the recent political victory in the just ended local government by elections.

Mr. Chilangwa observed that the winning of four out of five wards in the just ended local government elections confirmed that the people in the province have now accepted the party.

The Home Affairs Deputy Minister said people in the province have now realised that what the MMD and UPND said prior to the 2011 elections against the PF party were false.

He noted that the victory also confirmed that the people in the province have realised that MMD will never bounce back to power hence decided to work with the Government in developing their region.

Mr. Chilangwa said the Patriotic Front (PF) government is committed to distributing equally the benefits of economic development.

And speaking at the same function, PF North-Western Province Vice Chairperson, Kanguligu Kandulu attributed the victory to the contribution of Traditional Leaders in the province.

Mr. Kandulu said Traditional Leaders in the province have been instrumental in spearheading developmental projects hence making people happy.

Earlier, all of the four newly elected councillors pledged to work closely with the government in developing their wards.

Mr. Chilangwa was in the province on a familiarisation tour of all departments under the Ministry of Home Affairs in a bid to understand the challenges they are facing in delivering quality services to the people.
