Four people died on the spot while eight are battling for their lives in Kasama General Hospital when the driver of the vehicle they were in failed to negotiate a curve near Chishimba Zambia National Camp in Kasama along the Kasama/Mporokoso road 40 Kilometres from Kasama Town.
Northern Province Police Deputy Division Criminal Investigation Officer Kenneth Nkuwa said the accident occurred around 03:00 hours this morning.
Mr. Nkuwa named the victims as Charles Walinkonde a teacher at Kaputa Secondary School, Kolala Chansa of Mikose Village of Nsama District, Ruth Kalombala of Kaputa district and an unidentified man.
He said the accident involved a Noah bus registration number ACX 7708 which was heading for Kasama from Kaputa district and was driven by Justine Bwalya of Mulenga Hill in Kasama who is on the run.
