A Lusaka-base company is set to launch an Ebola stimulation drill in Zambia aimed at raising awareness on the deadly disease.
This has been disclosed to ZANIS in Lusaka in a statement issued to ZANIS by Lusaka In Depth Innovations Director Jonathan Nkhata.
He said the desire of his company of participating and introducing new concepts that will help promote good health and behavior will supplement governments efforts in the fight against Ebola.
Mr Nhkata said the Ebola stimulation drill will take place in March as an exercise to help provide more awareness and indicate the readiness for Zambia in the awareness, equipment and response system.
He said the exercise will encourage people not to shake hands or hug each other on a selected day.
The exercise will also highlight the number of people that have died from Ebola and countries that have been affected so far.
Mr Nhkata further added that it was important to carry out the exercise because government and other research institutions will have a clue on how schools, business houses, the media and other sectors of society will respond and also show the seriousness that Zambians attach to the threat of Ebola.
