Patriotic Front (PF) presidential candidate Edgar Lungu has maintained the lead in the 2015 presidential election results in the 111 constituencies counted so far.
Announcing the results at the presidential election results center in Lusaka last night, Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) chairperson Irene Mambilima said Mr. Lungu has polled 670, 397 votes representing 48.87 percent of the total votes cast.
His closest rival United Party for National Development (UPND) candidate Hakainde Hichilema has 641,343, votes representing 46.75% of the total votes.
FDD’s Edith Nawakwi is third with 11,260 votes representing 0.82 percent while MMD’s Nevers Mumba is in the fourth position with 10,242 votes, representing 0.75 percent of the total votes casted.
Tilyenji Kaunda of UNIP if fifth with 7,329 votes representing 0.53 percent, Fourth Revolution Party candidate Eric Chanda is sixth with 5,614 votes representing 0.41 percent.
In the seventh position is Elias Chipimo of NAREP who has 4,735 votes representing 0.35 percent while Heritage Party’s Godfrey Miyanda is eighth with 4,344 votes representing 0.35 percent.
Daniel Pule of CDP is ninth with 2,427 votes representing 0.18 percent, FDA’s Ludwig Sondashi is on tenth position with 1,445 votes representing 0.11 percent and in eleventh position is Green Party’s Peter Sinkamba with 1,105 votes representing 0.08 percent.
