Local Government and Housing Deputy Minister John Kufuna says the Patriotic Front (PF) government is determined to provide and increase decent housing units for its citizens in the Country.
Mr. Kufuna said there is a deficit of housing units in the country which government has vowed to eradicate in order to better the lives of Zambians.
The Deputy Minister said this soon after conducting a tour of various housing units being built by the National Housing Authority (NHA) and Private Cooperating Partners in Lusaka today.
He said government has decided to engage Private Public Partnership at a large scale to ensure that more houses are built not only in Lusaka but the rest of the Country.
Mr. Kufuna observed that the critical shortage of houses was not only in Zambia but the rest of Africa due to movement of people from rural to urban areas.
He stated that NHA alone will not be able to fight the shortage of accommodation in the Nation due to its current limping financial status.
