Govt’s move to procure Police Choppers commended
Lusaka, January 16, 2015 ZANIS—- The Zambia Police service says the decision by government to purchase choppers for the unit is long overdue.
Zambia police Acting Public Relations Officer, Esther Katongo says the Police unit is happy to have received this news especially with the high levels of criminal cases in Zambia.
Mrs. Katongo said the choppers will help the Zambia Police increase patrols including marine because there are crimes that takes place in water.
She said the choppers will enable them to cover more crimes within a short period of time because of high mobility, adding that a crime free atmosphere is the plight of every Zambia Zambian.
Mrs. Katongo told ZANIS in a telephone interview today that the Helicopters are expected in the country in three months’ time.
She commended government for its effort to ensure Zambia Police enhances its efficiency in the execution of its duties.
Government this week announced that it will procure five choppers for the Zambia Police to help fight the rising crime levels in the country.
