The opposition Movement for Multi-party
Democracy (MMD) has relieved three of its Provincial Chairmen for allegedly been found double dealing, thereby breaching
provisions of the party constitution.
Those relieved are Davis Kapwepwe of North-Western Province, Frank
Bowa of Muchinga Province and Stephen Mukuka of Northern Province who
have since been replaced by Goodson Sansakuwa for North-Western
Province, Namelod Mugala for Muchinga and Joe Ngo for Northern
Province.
MMD Deputy National Secretary Chembe Nyangu who disclosed the
development in a statement released to ZANIS in Lusaka today said the
action has been taken in the party’s quest to maintain high levels of
discipline.
He said the newly appointed Chairmen will act in these positions with
immediate effect.
Mr Nyangu said in the same vein the party has also dropped Copperbelt
Provincial Youth Chairman Chiko Chibale with immediate effect for
similar reasons.
Mr Nyangu said Mr Chibale will be replaced by Derrick Chilundika.
