Lightening kills 25 herds of cattle in Kalabo District
Kalabo, ZANIS, October 21,2014, ZANIS —– Lightening has struck dead twenty five herds of cattle in Luwe village of Chief Kaywa’s area in Sikongo District of the Western Province.
And property worth thousands of Kwacha was also lost after the lighting gutted homes of two families in the same village after striking the animals.
ZANIS reports that National Assembly of Zambia Administrative Assistant Zakeyo Chikunga confirmed the development in a statement in Kalabo district today.
The incident occurred over the weekend after a heavy down pour that hit the area.
Mr Chikunga named the owner of the animals as Namushi Muwana 58, a former Zambia National and Broadcasting Corporation (ZNBC) Mongu transmitter employee.
And the two homes that were struck by lightening belong to Joyce Sitali 68 and Namondu Lwandamo.
The two families were homeless as a result of the disaster that hit the village.
Sad
