—Government has released about K240 000 for the construction of a 1×2 classroom block at Mwambeshi Community School in Nsama district.
Northern Province Education Officer, Nero Mwanapabu, announced the release of the funds when he inspected the school in Nsama.
Mr Mwanapabu lamented that the condition of the current structure where the children are learning from is in a bad state.
He said the school services pupils from many villages and hence the need to upgrade it to better standards so that children can be learning in a comfortable and safe environment.
Mr Mwanapabu said the number of children seeking education services in the area has grown hence the need to expand the institution.
He also thanked the only community teacher who had sacrificed and stayed at the school and advised him to continue with the same spirit.
Mr Mwanapabu added that dedication and hard work were cardinal characteristics in quality service delivery.
From the same money, government also intends to construct two teachers’ houses and two VIP toilets
And parents with children at the school commended the government for constructing a new structure at the school.
PTA Chairperson, Boniface Musonda, said children in the area had lagged behind in terms of education for a long time.
Mr Musonda said incidences of early marriages in the area are high as most young people do not have anything to do.
Mwambeshi Community School runs from grade one to four and has a total number of 240 pupils.
