Kalulushi Mayor Bernard Mumba has called on all political parties in the district to attend the inter denomination church service ahead of the Golden Jubilee celebrations.
Bishop Mumba said this in Kalulushi today during a meeting on the preparations of 50 years of Zambia’s independence.
Councilor Mumba said it was important that every one attended the church service as it was not a political event but a national celebration.
He also extended his invitation to all residents of Kalulushi to attend the inter denomination church service ahead of the Golden Jubilee which would be held at Kaunda Square on the 19th of October.
Speaking earlier, Works of Jesus Christ Ministries Bishop Richard Sichula said arising from Zambia being a christian nation, there was need for Kalulushi to have a banner that welcomed people in the area as the place for christians.
Bishop Sichula said declaration of Zambia as a christian nation would not be removed in the district, but urged everyone to pray and worship so as to interpret the declaration of the country as a christian nation.
