UNIP in Luapula defends Kaunda

The UNIP Lusaka Province Women%u2019s Movement led by Beatrice Chiyuni is demanding the resignation of the party president and vice president Njekwa Anamela for allegedly failing to organize the party.

But UNIP Mansa Central losing Candidate Charles Mwelwa says those calling for the resignation of Mr. Kaunda are planting bad seeds in the former ruling party.
Mr. Mwelwa notes that the removal of Mr. Kaunda and his vice will make it difficult to mobilize the party.

He says he suspects the plot to remove the party’s president is sponsored by outside elements in a bid to paralyze the party structures.

Mr Mwelwa has told QFM News in a telephone interview that those calling for Mr. Kaunda’s resignation must leave the party and join parties of their choice instead of fueling confusion in the former ruling party.
