The Southern Africa Development Community Organisation of Public Accounts Committee (SADCOPAC) has urged African governments to take necessary measures to end the Ebola crisis that has claimed hundreds of lives in the western part of the continent.
SADCOPAC has also called on Lesotho to quickly resolve its current political crisis which it said was detrimental to that country’s democracy and to the peace of the citizens.
The SADCOPAC further wished the governments and people of Botswana and Mozambique successful, free and fair national elections in the forthcoming polls.
This is according to a statement made available to ZANIS in Lusaka today by National Assembly Media Liaison Officer Mathew Mukelabai following SADCOPAC annual conference and annual general meeting which was held at Mulungushi International Conference centre from September 1-5, 2014.
Speaker of the National Assembly Patrick Matibini officiated at the official opening of the conference on September 1, 2014.
And Zambia’s first President Kenneth Kaunda commended SADCOPAC for doing a great job in making sure that public funds were protected by PAC.
Speaking when some SDACOPAC members paid a courtesy call on him, the former President stated that he would be happy to see Africa developed and many people enjoying good standard of living within their societies.
