–Newly appointed Information and Broadcasting Services Deputy Minister Njeulu Poniso says he has read the United Party for National Development (UPND) constitution and has not found any part that forbids members of the party from accepting any appointments from government.
Mr Poniso who is also Sinjembela Member of Parliament pointed out that he has a copy of the UPND constitution saying he has thoroughly read it to ensure that he does not come in bleach of any act.
Speaking to ZANIS in an interview today when he attended the youth day celebrations at the freedom statue in Lusaka, Mr. Poniso said he is still an active member of the UPND.
The Information and Broadcasting Deputy Minister said working with the Patriotic Front government is a great achievement for the people of Shangombo who voted for him.
He said his appointment is a mile stone in his quest to delivering development to Shangombo district.
He said government on Monday this week released about KR150 million for the rehabilitation of schools in Shangombo district that had their roofs brown off during the 2011/2012 rainy season.
Mr. Poniso said the release of the funds demonstrates the commitment and advantages of working with government as it positively benefit the people on the grass roots.
Meanwhile, Mr. Poniso said since his appointment as Deputy Minister he has not received any communication from his party.
He said he has not been able to meet any senior members of the party owing to the by-elections going on.
Mr. Poniso said he is however confident and happy to note that he is one of the members of the party who have no record of disciplinary charges.
