Central Province Permanent Secretary Edwidge Mutale says there is need for women to change their mind set in addressing the challenges of gender inequality.
Ms Mutale was speaking at the African Human Development Report (AHDR) consultative meeting held in Lusaka today.
She urged women to desist from looking down upon themselves as the trend makes them vulnerable.
Ms Mutale said women need to be educated on the effects of gender inequality in order for them to make informed decisions and contribute positively to national development.
And Millenium Challenge Account Coordinator Pamela Bwalya said promoting gender equality yields positive results as women have the capacity to improve the economic wellbeing of the country.
The event was organized by United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) aimed at reviewing and exploring mechanisms to foster gender equality in Zambia.
