—–China Foundation for Peace and Development (CFPD) has donated two Higger buses and 30 computers valued at one hundred thousand United States Dollars to the National Project for Poverty Reduction (NPPR) training centre.
Patriotic Front (PF) Secretary General Wynter Kabimba says the donation will inspire hard work and dedication among the NPPR staff to reach out to the most vulnerable youths across the country.
Mr. Kabimba said the objectives of the NPPR supplements governments efforts in combating poverty by empowering youths with life skills.
He said the empowering of the youths with life skills will greatly help in the country in attaining of the Millennium Development Goals in poverty.
The PF Secertary General disclosed to the Chinese delegation that the programme has impacted positively many youths since its inception.
He said government attaches great importance to education as evidence by the hug slice of national funds allocated to the sector so as to enhancing education levels and make it available to all Zambians.
Mr Kabimba said the PF government has made education a priority apex among other sector as it is a key driver in reducing poverty among the Zambian people.
Meanwhile He implored NPPR to put to good use the equipment donated to the institute in a bid to change the leaves of the youths.
And speaking earlier at the same function NPPR Board chairperson Dr Ngosa Simbyakula revealed that over 500 youths have been trained in various technical skills course which are key in driving the growth of the economy.
He explained that the trained youths are now able to fend for themselves and their respective families hence complimenting governments efforts in reducing poverty.
CFPD Deputy Secretary General Yu Xiaoxuan said the institute was determined to help Zambia reduce poverty through collaboration with the NPPR programme.
Ms Xiaoxuan said the relationship between the CFPD and NPPR will help in contributing to Zambia’s social stability and in creating employment for the youths.
