Business came to a standstill in the border town of Nakonde after Zambian bandits staged an aggravated robbery inside Tanzania at 11:00 hours Jun 3rd.
ZANIS reports that Muchinga Province Deputy Police Commissioner ,Bonny Kapeso confirmed the development in an interview in Nakonde District, Jun 4th .
Mr Kapeso said the incident angered the Tanzania nationals who persued, nabbed and killed one, injuring another while the third suspect was saved by quick police action on the Zambian side.
He said the irate Tanzania nationals rose to the challenge after the bandits shot at and wounded two Tanzanians.
Mr. Kapeso said three people were also shot at and wounded as bandits were shooting anyhow
during their pursuit.
He said one of the victims died June 3 around 18 : 00 hours while the two are nursing serious wounds but are said to be out of danger.
He said two suspects are currently in police custody while the fourth suspect is on the run.
