Mongu Press Club Vice Chairperson said this during celebrations marking World Press Freedom Day that falls every March 3rd I  in MNongu District.

She said   journalists have continued accepting bribes from sources due to poor salaries and poor conditions of service.

Ms. Mwaangala added that an increment in the scribes’ salaries by government will encourage media practitioners in the country to work hard and professionally and make them to refrain from such vices of accepting bribes.
Meanwhile Ms Mwangala has appealed to her fellow journalist to continue being objective in there reporting.
She explained that there is need for journalist to report accurate information to the public adding that a well informed public makes good decisions in terms of national development.
