The opposition Alliance for Better Zambia (ABZ) says the escalating political violence has the potential to dent Zambia’s image to the international community.
ABZ president Father Frank Bwalya told Mano News in a telephone interview that it was disheartening that the country’s glory of a peace haven was seemingly fading out.
Fr. Bwalya added that if left unchecked, the violent behavior of cadres has the ability to scare away tourists and investors.
And Fr. Bwalya has since charged that police are to blame for the continued attacks on opposition party leaders.
Last week, UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema escaped lynching by PF cadres at SUN FM in Ndola.
Mr. Hichilema was made to escape through the roof top.
Four days later, ABZ President Father Frank Bwalya was also attacked by PF cadres in Ndola’s Kawama Compound.
