A police officer based in Mazabuka District who is alleged to have caused the death of a street vendor appeared on Friday March 28th in the Mazabuka magistrates court charged with one count of murder.
Lovemore Daka appeared before magistrate Greenwell Malumani charged with one count of Murder contrary to Section 200 of the Penal Code Chapter 87 of the laws of Zambia.
Mr.Daka appeared in court charged with the murder of 37 year old Robson Chitalu who died on Wednesday following the alleged beating he suffered at the hands at his hands.
The police officer appeared before the court for explanation of the charge that is leveled against him.
Mention in the matter has been set for April 11th, 2014 and he has since been remanded at Mazabuka state prison.
