K57,000 rebased released for health facility completion
Kasama, February 20, ZANIS —— Mulenga Hills health post has received a face lift following the release of KR57,000 from the Constitution Development Fund (CDF) towards the completion of the maternity Annex at the health facility.
This came to light when Kasama District Commissioner Kalanga Bwalya toured the health post.
The maternity annex has been under construction by the community for almost three years now.
Mr Bwalya is also concerned about the number of projects in the district that have been under construction by the community and works are not yet completed due to lack of funds.
He said there are some construction works that have been pending completion close to five years now.
The District Commissioner has however commended Mulenga Hills community for the job well done on the construction of the maternity annex.
However, the village head woman Regina Kayula urged the government to gazette the health post into a clinic because of the vastness of the catchment area.
She said most of her people come to the same health post for treatment.
Ms Kayula has also advised the area councillor to bring in a contractor with the heart for the project.
Ms Kayula said she does not want businessmen who are going to be contracted because they are just interested in the money and not finish the works at the end of the day.
She has however thanked the area councillor for the money released for the completion of the project.
