Man defiles two minors, infects them with sexually transmitted diseases

A 26 year old man of Mashinge village in Samfya district of Luapula province has been committed to the High Court for sentencing after being found guilty of defiling two minors.

Before Magistrate Esquire Daka was Banabas Mwewa who also infected the two minors with a sexually transmitted disease.

Facts before the court were that on the 10th of October 2013 Mwewa willfully had carnal knowledge of the two minors and infected them with a sexually transmitted disease.

Mwewa was charged with defilement on two counts contrary to section 138(1) of the penal code chapter 87 of the laws of Zambia.

He was also charged with two other counts for assault occasioning actual bodily harm contrary to section 248 of the penal code chapter 87 of the laws of Zambia.

Magistrate Daka said he had no Jurisdiction over the matter and therefore committed Mwewa to the  High Court for sentencing.
