The Foundation for Democratic Process (FODEP) has welcomed the arrest of PF Lusaka province youth Chairman Kennedy Kamba and others accused of perpetrating violence.
FODEP Executive Director McDonald Chipenzi says whoever engages in violence should be ready to face the law regardless of the political party one is coming from.
He has commended the PF government for allowing the law to take its course against its members without interference, and has urged the ruling party to continue exhibiting impartiality in dealing with issues that boarder on public order and safety.
Mr. Chipenzi states that if the Police are allowed to do their works without interference, it will instill confidence in the work of the Police.
He adds that the arrest of Kamba will also serve as a lesson to the other cadres that no party structure or leader will protect them if they engage in violence.
Kamba was arrested yesterday for proposing violence and appeared in court today where he pleaded not guilty.
