Government has clarified that the disparities in nurses salaries following the effecting of new wages is purely a payroll issue and has nothing to do with the collective agreement.
Health Deputy Minister Dr Patrick Chikusu has told parliament today that the Zambia Union of Nurses Organization (ZUNO) has engaged the Public Service Management Division to rectify some disparities that may have been observed on some pay slips.
Dr Chikusu adds that government has engaged the Health Workers Union to explain the details and implications of the 2013 Collective Agreement signed with between the government and the Unions.
Nurses had threatened a countrywide strike after they rejected the four percent salary increment.
