Mr Lungu told Parliament today that it has been noted from the UNIP era that Police officers fear to arrest ruling party officials who contravene the law which should not be the case.
He says President Michael Sata has told him that there should be no one above the law regardless of one%u2019s political affiliation.
Mr Lungu says Police should deal with any lawbreaker whether from the ruling party or the opposition without fear.
The Home Affairs Minister adds that the same people who were in MMD and carried out wrong doings have infiltrated the PF.
And Mr Lungu has defended the administration of the public order Act by the Police, stating that there is no selective application of the law when it comes to public rallies or processions.
He however, says misunderstandings do arise between the conveners of the meetings and the Police.
He says it therefore incumbent upon political party leaders to dialogue with the Police to find common ground.
